Cashing In On Foley-gate
Naturally the websites of the Kevin Blier hate groups Vermont Renewal/Center for American Cultural Renewal are following the lead of other notorious hate groups such as Tony Perkins' Family Research Council.   Unsurprisingly, Perkins, to whom their piece refers, has longstanding ties to racist groups.
Blier's group has posted a tortured, outcome oriented, analysis of the latest Republican congressional scandal with the usual fund-raising "donation" buttons at the top and bottom of the post.   The Blier group piece deliberately and cynically blurs the lines between Pedophilia and Ephebophilia, as do other fundamentalist activists, seeking to inflame the matter as much as possible as a part of an attempt to divert attention from the makeup of the the group that has covered up this situation - conservative Christian Republicans.
This ABC News piece takes a different view, exploring the Republicans own self-made closet issue, while pointing out:
Social conservatives... have seized on the story line that homosexuality leads directly to interest in underage partners, though it should be noted that there's as yet no evidence of any improper physical contact between Foley and the former pages.Although the Blier group piece contains links to earlier Jack Tapper, Salon and ABC News articles, you won't find this more recent one on his websites.   After all, you can't raise as much money with the truth, can you?
What do fellow GOP conservatives say about The Center for American Cultural Renewal? "...(A)n organization with no Washington presence and little clout with social conservatives outside Vermont where it is based."
